Arts in the Square requires the support of city, education, business and the arts community to flourish. This perfect combination is reflected in the jury panel that will select the Best in Show, the Juror's Choice, and a winner in each category. The following individuals bring with their investment of time and resources, their full support to Arts in the Square.

 

Diana Moya

An International contemporary artist and independent curator living and working in Frisco. Venezuelan born, with formal education is in architecture and interior design, however her artistic abilities expanded in Mexico where she studied and experienced the Fine Arts with some of the best in the field. She exhibits and sells her work in Solo and group shows around the world. Diana is an advocate for the Arts and a professional artist for over 20 years. Past president of the Visual Arts Guild of Frisco and honored with the prestigious ‘Art Starter’ Award by the Frisco Association for the Arts. For many years Moya has developed youth arts programs in Frisco in collaboration with FISD, city's environmental services and Boys & Girls Club. Her iconic rendering of the old Frisco water tower promotes historic downtown Frisco, the Merchants Association, Frisco networking sites, as well as local products and community events. In 2010 she was inducted in Paris as the American Ambassador of the Société des Pastellistes de France. In 2011 Diana was the only American pastel artist invited to exhibit in the Biennial of Pastel in Oviedo, Principado de Asturias, Spain. In 2012 Moya is invited to exhibit in the EuropArtexpo in Apledorn, The Netherlands. Memberships include National Association of Independent Artists, International Association of Pastel Societies. Austin Pastel Society. Frisco Association for the Arts. Sociéte des Pastellistes de France. Pintores Pastelistas Españoles. Sociedad Mexicana de Artistas. Diana Moya is the lead Artist for Arts in the Square 2009-2012.

 

Allison Jernigan

Allison has a passion for the arts and our community. She serves as Frisco Community Rep for the Junior League of Collin County, is a graduate of Leadership Plano, a member of United Methodist Women, a Blog Contributor for Kimberly Schlegel Whitman’s RSVP Calendar, and is involved in various other charitable programs in the area. Allison Jernigan is Director of Business Development for Cinemark Theatres. She holds a BS and MBA in Marketing Management from The University of Texas at Dallas. Her professional career includes over twelve years of experience in Marketing and Revenue Generating Programs.

 

D.K. Richardson

For over 46 years, award winning artist, D.K. Richardson has been dedicated to the Arts. Realism has been her focus. The true challenge of her craft is capturing the essence of character, beyond photography, the true identity in still life, landscape, and portraiture. Dabbling in impressionism and non-representational works, she always returned to her love of realism. Native to Texas, Richardson currently resides in Austin, Texas where she accepts portrait commissions and has a teaching studio for instructing students in portraiture, still life and landscape. In 2004, Richardson was commissioned to do a portrait of Martin Fryer, Senior Pro Rodeo Calf Roper, on his favorite horse. In 2008, Richardson joined the Portrait Society of America in pursuit of understanding the world of Fine Art Portraiture. In 2010, Richardson was invited to exhibit in France as a Master Pastelist, along with five other Texas artists at two renowned pastel festivals: International Pastel Festival in Feytiat, France; and the 2nd European Congress of Pastel in Saint Florent le Vieil, France. Both are produced by the Société des Pastellistes de France of which she is now an Honorary Member.

 

 

Scott Trent

Scott Trent is a metal sculptor, academic, founding director for the Henderson Art Project, and President of the non-profit, Support the Arts. He has served as a board member for the Texas Sculpture Association and is currently the artist in residence for the city of Frisco since 2010.  Scott completed his Ph.D. in 2011 from the University of Texas at Dallas, with an emphasis in design, digital literacy and the design of facilitated collaboration through emerging media. He is an associate professor at Collin County College and adjunct instructor at Tarrant County College. HIs areas of specialty include design, information architecture, digital rhetoric, visual communication and media based collaboration.  Scott has been creating and selling art work since 2001; his work can be found in permanent placement with the city of Frisco, Dallas Holocaust Museum and among numerous private collections and various public spaces in the Dallas metroplex area

 

Mandy Meadows

Mandy Meadows is an expert in digital/social media. She manages all social media channels including – Facebook, Twitter, Google+, blogging for CINESCOOP – Cinemark’s movie blog, mobile marketing, and other up-and-coming technologies. She recently moved to Frisco on July last year with her husband, 2 cats, and 2 dogs and has enjoyed the wonderful community ever since. Mandy is an art lover and avid community supporter.

 

 

Lucille Cole Carter

A native of New York, Lucille Cole Carter evolved from a very successful fashion and furniture illustrator into an outstanding fine artist, recognized regionally and nationally for her vivid oil, pastel and acrylic paintings. Carter is an associate member of Oil Painters of America and the Portrait Society of America. She is an award-winning, signature member of Associated Creative Artists, a signature member and President of the Pastel Society of the Southwest, and a signature member of the Pastel Society of America. Carter's work has been represented by galleries in New York, Florida, Indiana, North Carolina and Texas, and is included in many important collections in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

 

 

Dr. Raul M. Oyuela

Born in Argentina. Education: PhD. in Philosophy and Literature, University of Bluenose Aries, Argentina; Art History and Museum Studies, University of Genoa, Italy; Painting: Professor Giovanni San tori, Genoa, Italy; Painting: Professor Julio Vazquez Aramco, Bluenose Aries, Argentina; Ceramics studies: Professor Mithra Richmond Jones, Miami, FL; Photography: Several courses in Argentina. Graduated: Professor of Color Photography and Audiovisual Communications; Title: Artiste FIAP, Federation International dart Photographic, Switzerland.

Current Director, Museum of the Americas, Miami, Florida. Also, Art Consultant for the European Communities Artists Library of Barcelona, Spain.

Audiovisual, film and TV productions: Several audiovisuals of museums as well as Louvre, Jed DE Pause, National Gallery of Washington, Modern Art of Paris, Toledo and E Grecian, Prado, etc; Films in Argentina and Brazil; Producer of twelve programs through WLRN in Miami, FL, series called “Art sin Front eras” (Art without borders) with 30 interviews to artists, dealers, critics, journalists, collectors, etc.

Artistic experience: As an artist photographer, painter and ceramist, more than 100 exhibitions in different cities, including Bluenose Aries (Argentina), Singapore, Honk Kong, Taiwan, New York, NY, San Francisco, CA, Barcelona (Spain), Mexico, San Pauli (Brazil), Lisbon (Portugal), Bonn (Germany), Capetown (South Africa), Bucharest (Romania), Paris (France), Como (Italy), etc; Among these shows, obtained 85 awards including the X San Paul Biennial.

Awards and other major services: Gold Medal at the IX San Pauli Biennial in photography; Bronze Medal at the Romanian Photographic Salon; Gold Medal at the “Salon IKA,” Bluenose Aries, Argentina; Silver Medal of the Argentine Federation of Photography; Honorable Mentions in Como (Italy) and Guatemala; Public recognition award by the Mayor of Dada County, Hon. Stephen Clark; Mentioned at the Congress of the U.S. by Congresswoman Ilea Rod-Lehtinen; Commendation of the Consulate General of Israel in Miami for the exhibition “Latin Artists visit Jerusalem.”; Consultant and organizer of the “Ats Weierstrass 2000 Festival” in the city of Weierstrass (Austria) at the Gutenberg Castle.
